On Match Day
How do I know where we are playing?
Match fixtures are published on AHJSA web site. Please refer to these fixtures. Your teams coach will also confirm game arrangements at the designated training session in the week before the game.
How does the team get to away matches?
Parents are requested to bring their children to all matches. We understand that at times this may be difficult with other sporting commitments of other children. If you need a hand, please work with other parents and your coach if you require assistance in ferrying the kids from one game / location to another!
What time do I need to be at the game?
We need all players there at least 20 minutes before kickoff to allow for gear to be checked, warm up and to take coaching instructions for the match.
What do we need to bring?
Please ensure that your child has their uniform, soccer boots (or runners) and shin guards. A tracksuit and or a warm jacket is also required as some players may be subbed off during the match. A change of clothes is great after a muddy and wet match. A plastic bag for the wet stuff is also pretty handy!
How can I show my support to my child and the team?
During matches, and to an extent, at training, the coaches encourage you to cheer on the your child and their team. What we do request however, is that instructions are only provided by the coaches. This is for two reasons (1) To avoid confusing the children i.e. do I listen to my parent, or do I listen to the coach (2) We as coaches also limit our instructions to the children, and might only have a limited focus of our feedback for a particular training session or match, such as making passes to team mates, or talking to team mates- a limited focus is much easier for the children to handle. Your support in this matter is appreciated.

How Can I Help?
You help and contributions are key to the enjoyment of the team, your child's development and the success of the club. There are many ways that you can assist. Any time you have to offer - regularly, adhoc or once only makes a huge difference to the club and all the volunteers required to make it a great place to be.
What can I do on match day?
Setting up the Pitch - On match day, one of the main tasks is marking out the pitch and setting up the goals. This is a job that often falls to a dedicated few who are always happy to share the love. If you have any capacity – once per season to every week, please let us know how you can help. The club runs on volunteers and parents of the club. Your contribution no matter how big or small is very well received.
Oranges - We also welcome your contributions to the half time tradition of oranges. The teams will prepare a roster at the start of the season.
How can I make a regular contribution to the club?
With our club growing and creating new teams and levels, we can never have too many coaches and referee's. If you have the ability to coach or co-coach or referee a team we would love to hear from you.
Coaching – Club coaches are all volunteers, and parents of children who are playing the game. Coaches manage the team from training sessions to match days and everything else in between. We have found that a coach and a coaches assistant provides the best outcomes for the teams and the volunteers who take on this role. If you are interested and able to assist please let us know.
Referee’s – Again referees of our games are volunteers. If you are interested and available to referee games training is available.
