Coaching and Player Development
At BJSC we are continually working hard to improve the playing environment for our young players . We aspire to help each child participate at a level that they are comfortable with, feel challenged and promote good development of their soccer skills. Central to our goals of player development, is a coaching approach that aims to inspire our players, because through that players we believe players enjoy their participation more, and naturally want to improve their skills. Key to achieving our aims is good coaching, and good access to facilities.
Coaching
The club aims to continually improve the coaching available to our players, and their is already a core of enthusiastic coaches within the club delivering good input to the players. The club always needs more coaches and encourages anyone within an interest in getting involved in the coaching side of the game to get involved; a lot of parents start out as assistants. To further promote and improve our coaching we are focusing on 1) Maintaining and supporting current coaches 2) Providing opportunities for coaches to further their skills such as supporting them to access courses or resources 3) Improving and providing additional equipment to help the coaches do their job even more effectively
Facilities
We have a strong focus on improving the facilities and equipment available to the players and coaches; we have increased the range of training equipment steadily over recent seasons. The club will add even more equipment during 2013, and we will continue to build in this area. The club works hard to gain funding for equipment and facilities, and this year has achieved two important goals already 1) Increased sponsorship 2) Received the award a grant from the department of recreation and sport
Spirit of the Club
We are proud at our club that we are known for providing a friendly, fun atmosphere for the players to enjoy their experience of being involved with soccer; the club is very keen to maintain this reputation, the spirit of the club. We see that being a part of BJSC is about more than developing soccer skills, and we hope that our players also develop other strong personal qualities and sense of community through being involved and develop in leadership, dignity, respect, communication and fairness.
